Re-Set: Empowering You to Move Forward

Re-Set - Empowering You to Move Forward

Re-Set is a free programme of learning and activities for adults who want to make a change. It will help you take stock, understand what has led you to this point in your journey and guide you forwards.

Life can leave us feeling lost at times; even overwhelmed. Stress and unprocessed traumas can overtake our mind and body, leaving us feeling mentally and physically unwell. We can end up isolated and feeling unsure about just about everything, especially how to make changes or move forward.

What we need is the opportunity to hit the Re-Set button and regain our ‘selves’. That's exactly what Re-Set is all about.

Drawing on decades of research, lived experience and over 20 years of working as a trauma-informed practitioner; understanding stress regulation techniques and combining those with the knowledge of delivering community education, Amanda, our CEO, developed ‘Re-Set’.

Our primary goal is to enhance mind and body health by sharing the information and tools to do so with people who are ready to take back control of their wellbeing. We know that trying to manage the everyday stress of modern life, the trauma of specific events and/ or long term medical conditions can all take their toll.

3 years later, as of August 2025, we have worked successfully with over 120 individuals, helping them to regain their lives and we have grown a dedicated team of professionals ready to support you from whatever your starting point may be.

Get the support you need to recover your confidence, move forward and find new friends while you’re at it!

About the Re-Set programme

The Re-Set programme is delivered at our New Romney site in a calm and safe environment. Our ground rules and respect for each other promotes genuine inclusion, encourages bravery and enables real transformation.

You will be placed in a small group of up to 10 others who are in a similar boat to you. Re-Set runs for five weeks with attendance required either one morning or afternoon a week depending on the programme’s schedule. Every session is free and everything you might need is provided free of charge, including drinks and light snacks - please let us know if you have any allergies.

We have two options available:

Our General Wellbeing Re-Set Programme:

Throughout this free programme, you'll gain a deeper understanding of how stress impacts you physically and emotionally. We'll guide you in learning effective strategies to regulate and manage stress, bringing you to a place of overall well-being. You will also take part in therapeutic activities to encourage relaxation and promote self-care.

There are a number of programmes each year so we are always happy to know when it would suit you to start. We’d also like to know if the session times/ days don't work for you as we are always trying to reach new people and may be able to offer alternative arrangements.

Our Diabetes Re-Set Programme:

We are delighted to be supported by the Paula Carr Diabetes Trust to deliver Re-Set programmes especially for those living with diabetes, Type 1 and Type 2, and their families or carers. These run 3 times per year in September, January and April.

As well as the key elements of Re-Set including how stress and unprocessed trauma are closely related to your blood sugar levels, there are additional opportunities to work with a dietitian and a podiatrist, in person, who will answer your specific questions; you can understand more about your diabetes and what questions you should be asking your healthcare professionals.

We aim to bring in more specific clinicians and associated professionals to make sure you can receive the best care whilst understanding what you can do to live an enjoyable and healthy life. We are also working with our local clinicians to improve diabetes care across the Marsh together.

Join our community for continued support

1-1 Support from our Wellbeing Guide

Should you wish to access more personalised support, our Wellbeing Guide can offer person centred 1-1 sessions to help you to problem solve and overcome barriers to improve and maintain areas of wellbeing. This can include, but is not limited to, setting meaningful and manageable goals around sleep, eating, physical health, hobbies, emotional wellness, skill development and employment.

Our Wellbeing Guide will help you to review your goals and celebrate your journey and can help you to create a plan for the future, as well as for if things start to break down. This is a non-clinical service, and our Wellbeing Guide will also sign post you to appropriate services as needed to support your wellbeing journey. .
